This print is not “new” or in “new condition.” This is an antique print and that will be reflected in the quality of the work. It was printed in 1825 and is in phenomenal condition considering its age. The full page is approx. 17.25”L x 14.25”W and the piece itself is near spotless, save for the margins, which show indentations from the printing plate and some minor discoloration. The bottom left corner indicates some light water damage.

Either a Swiss or German born artist Alexander Rider moved to America around 1808, under the employment of a royal botanist. In the 1820s he was working in Philadelphia as a colorist and engraver. He worked alongside Charles L. Bonaparte in creating the supplementary works of American Ornithology, by Alexander Wilson.
